My sister moved to Texas last fall since she got a job with the Houston Rockets and I finally had the opportunity to go visit her. It was great to see her working so hard and in her element. She was able to get my mom and I seats to a game and we even got a behind the scenes tour. She was excited to show us around her new life and since Houston was recently named a top ten foodie city in America, she had made some amazing dinner reservations. Saturday night we went to a restaurant called Black & White, known for their "Honest Seafood & Mediterranean Fare". They essentially have two menus - a black and white one (see below). They ask you to select one when making a reservation but you are free to order off both menus. Even the restaurant was decorated in two distinct styles. Being a seafood lover, I truly loved this restaurant. It was hard to choose between all the options - 3 preparations of octopus, tons of tartars, ceviches and carpaccios, and so much more. Some of my favorites were actually the duck magret and the beef carpaccio from the black menu, which had more of the meat options.
