Or Tor Kor Market

One of our stops in Bangkok was a large local market called Or Tor Kor Market, one of the best rated fresh fruit markets in the world. The colors, smells, and tastes were overwhelming. Besides the heat and the flies buzzing around, I was in heaven. Even though we came here right after lunch, we couldn't help tasting everything and buying a few things. Everything was really cheap (as are most things in Thailand) but we did discover a new kind of apple, called Apple Envy, each one the size of a big grapefruit, that cost about $8 each! The apple was developed by some researchers in New Zealand, and it supposedly has an enzyme in it that prevents it from browning. Scroll all the way down for a picture. We didn't end up buying one but I wish that I had so I can attest to its taste & see if it really didn't brown.
